Committed Execution
Most business leaders believe execution is critical. The reality is, only few organizations specifically manage the execution. If execution is such an important responsibility of executives, there should be some clearly defined goals and actions directly linked to the health and results of execution as well as allocated resources for optimizing it continuously. Most organizations do not have the structure and personnel that directly manage execution; they expect perfect execution by implementing KPI-featured performance management system.
The entire organization must be able to manage the execution directly and specifically. There is no universal definition of execution. The journey of managing execution begins with exploring specific definition. The first definition may be temporary and it will be altered by the changes in the eco-system. To define what execution in your organization is, you need to answer 3 questions: 1. When is execution needed? 2. What type of execution needed? 3. Where does this type of execution come from?
With this definition, you can ensure the alignment between functions and before initiating the next steps focused on solving complex issues. Again, we do not recommend off-the-shelf solutions, even the most common intervention should be customized.
Put the execution at the center, we have done studies on key factors significantly impact execution such as workplace engagement, cross-boundary collaboration, organizational structure and change management. The insights we have gained through these studies enabled us to help our clients define execution and build infrastructure of execution management and improvement. All the other systems, structures and principles will be examined in terms of the compatibility for ensuring alignment and synergy.
Execution strategy and solution deployment are two last steps. The team and our consultants will work together to identify key issues, create appropriate solutions and achieve outcomes.
